Pop-up rubber-rimmed eyecups retract into the binocular body for eyeglass use, rather than rolling down. This eliminates the chance of eyecups drying out and cracking with age as rolldown eyecups can. These Leicas are superb small aperture optics for casual daytime birding and for use when travelling, hiking, biking, or at the theater - wherever and whenever light weight and a small size are more important than big light-gathering. The new P40 phase-correcting roof prism coatings provide a resolution and sharpness surprisingly good for small aperture optics.
