The double hinge design lets the 8x fold to a compact 3.6" x 2.5" x 1.4" size that easily slips into purse or coat pocket. They are encased in a black polyurethane armor that provides protection for the optics, as well as a more comfortable grip in cold or inclement weather. Pop-up rubber-rimmed eyecups retract into the binocular body for eyeglass use, rather than rolling down. This eliminates the chance of eyecups drying out and cracking with age as rolldown eyecups can.
